Mobile Security Still Needs More Work in Most Enterprises
A recent survey on mobile security confirms what most suspect. Most enterprises still have much work to do to bring mobile security up to par, especially for devices that spend most of their time connecting to data and applications on third-party networks.
Although many enterprises provide devices for employees and they are aware of mobile security threats, numerous organizations lacked real-time visibility in the devices. Nearly half of the respondents could not say whether their company has been the victim of a mobile security breach in the past year. Sixty-six percent of enterprises allow mobile workers to operate a corporate-owned device without a VPN. Moreover, 64 percent lack security rules that audit when a user connects to a public Wi-Fi or carrier network.
